Cardiovascular Health

Many of us are unsure what it means to have cardiovascular health. Surprisingly, you can be trim, have toned muscles, and workout regularly at the gym and still have poor cardiovascular health. Cardiovascular health does not manifest itself in the outward view, but it is on the inside of the body. Cardiovascular health refers to the health of your heart, your respiratory system and your circulatory system all together.

One of the best way to improve your cardiovascular health is to include aerobic exercises into your workouts: brisk walking, running, sprinting, stair stepping and/or aerobics. Aerobic exercises raise your heart rate, increase the flow of blood to your organs, and strengthen your cardiovascular system.

To improve your cardiovascular health you must do aerobic exercises and keep your heart rate between 135 and 165 beats per minute. The longer and more consistently this is accomplished, the healthier your heart will become and the less beats per minute during resting it will pump. This means that you are optimizing your cardiovascular health.

Other ways to further optimize your cardiovascular health is to take supplements and eat right. Supplements such as Coenzyme Q10 help support heart health. Supplementation of CoQ10 is important as levels of CoQ10 in the body decrease with age.
